About Samantha
Hi! I am a passionate reading tutor who truly enjoys helping kids grow into confident, capable readers. I currently volunteer with a nonprofit organization that supports children's literacy and helps connect parents and their kids through the shared joy of reading together. This experience has shown me how powerful reading can be—not just for learning, but for building relationships and confidence. I love working with children and creating a positive, encouraging space where they feel supported and excited to learn. Whether it’s helping a young reader sound out their first words or guiding a middle schooler through a tricky chapter book, I’m here to make reading less stressful and more fun.

As a reading tutor, I focus on helping students build strong reading skills through patience, encouragement, and personalized lessons. I adjust my approach based on each student's age, reading level, and specific needs. Whether your child is just starting to read, needs help with fluency and comprehension, or is feeling frustrated with school reading assignments, I’m here to support them.
In a typical session, we’ll start with a fun warm-up like reviewing sight words or playing a phonics game. Then we move on to reading a short passage or book together. I help with sounding out tricky words, building vocabulary, and asking questions to make sure they really understand what they’re reading. We always finish with a quick recap and set a simple goal for next time.
What makes my tutoring different is that I keep things low-pressure and positive. I recently graduated from college and have experience working with kids in both academic and creative settings. I do my best to make reading feel less like a chore and more like something they can enjoy and feel proud of.
My lessons are great for elementary and middle school students, early readers, kids who need extra practice, or anyone who could use a little more confidence with reading.
