About Michaela
I am a sophomore Biology Pre-PA student at Louisiana Tech University, and I am also working on a mathematics minor. Throughout my years as a student, I have experience with tutoring middle school and high school students in almost every subject. I have concentrated in many chemistry and algebra/pre-calculus courses throughout high school and college as well. Helping each individual student understand material and discovering effective ways to study are my passions, and I would love to share them!

My teaching methodology is simple—utilizing critical thinking while reinforcing the basics. For example, math is a “building block” subject, meaning that each concept is interconnected, and without a thorough understanding of the basic concepts of algebra, it is difficult to preform well in more difficult courses such as pre-calculus or geometry. My goal is to give each student the extra confidence to solve problems using critical thinking and real-life problem-solving skills I have learned throughout my journey in higher education thus far. I strive for my tutoring to be student-to-student rather than teacher-to-student, which in my experience, has been proven to allow students to feel more comfortable about learning concepts that they struggle with in the typical classroom.
