About Kimya
I grew up in the ultra-competitive environment of Silicon Valley, and attended Notre Dame San Jose. So, I witnessed first-hand how competitive the college admissions process is, and the lengths people will go to to get into a certain school. My own experience taught me that getting into a certain school is just the beginning, and it is far more important to make the most of your time there/have a clear direction of what you want to pursue before beginning. My time working at companies like Disney, Visa, Sony Pictures Entertainment, as well as a number of companies in China/Indonesia/Iran, taught me that developing strong communication skills, and being in a college environment conducive to networking/providing its students with global opportunities directly paves the way for success in all endeavors in life.
I love the work I do because I feel that every person has a unique story to tell...I derive joy from finding an intersection between somebody trusting me with their story and then working together to craft it in a compelling way that lets them stand out in the admissions process.

Whether a student is looking to get a head start on picking the right extracurriculars and classes in middle/high school or putting together an application package/essays that best communicate his/her unique story in a way that stands out from the rest, I work extensively with clients depending on need or stage in the process (as early as middle school to as late as appealing a waitlist decision) to ensure they are admitted to a school that aligns best with their academic and professional goals. I began this work after being admitted to multiple Ivy League schools, a host of top 10 private/public universities (many on merit scholarships), and ultimately attending USC on a Trustee Scholarship (merit-based and awarded to only the top 5% of the incoming freshman class). Since then I have helped countless students at public and private schools worldwide achieve success and begin the next stage of their academic journey with joy and confidence.
I remain highly selective about who I work with for college consulting not only to ensure the highest level of attention and support to each student but also because over the years (and time spent working in USC's admissions office/developing a strong network of colleagues in other admissions offices throughout the country), I have learned some "trade secrets" that set my business apart from other large-scale firms in the area.
My resume speaks of someone who not only personally attained some of the highest levels of success (admission to Ivy League schools, perfect standardized test scores, jobs working alongside top c-suite leadership at Fortune 500 companies around the world), but who also took these successes and used them to create a tried and true method for helping others attain the same heights. What sets me apart is that I am passionate about the story of each person I work with ultimately, treating their goals not as one-off items to be "checked" off a list, but rather as opportunities to use methodology focusing on learning and mastering fundamentals. Instead of rote memorization and an over-reliance on external resources, those I work with become skilled enough to not only progress to advanced levels but also to use logic and their own knowledge to independently tackle subsequent personal and academic challenges. For me, this work is about more than just getting students into great schools-it is about gaining skills and confidence that will later serve in any academic or professional endeavors they pursue.
I've been a voracious reader as far back as I can remember, which led not only to an immense love and appreciation for the written word but also a skillset in writing that has led me to success at various stages of my life...from being able to write the perfect essay to analyze a classic tome in a new way in English class at Notre Dame High School, to writing essays that played a huge role in my admittance to ivy league colleges/a full Trustee Scholarship to USC...my ability to help students achieve top results in their endeavors stems from a love of storytelling...a desire to figure out the very best way to craft a narrative in a way that speaks to all who encounter what I work on.
Ultimately, I have also witnessed how high levels of pressure/stress to perform from a young age can impact a child's mental health...so my number one priority above all else is ensuring that regardless of what we are doing, we are working hard but never at the expense of general well-being.
Since then I have helped countless students at public and private schools worldwide achieve success and begin the next stage of their academic journey with joy and confidence.
