About Maxine
Ever since I was young, I dreamt of becoming a teacher, and even though my path led me into science, corporate training, and motherhood, that passion for helping people learn never went away. My corporate day job actually made me love it more. There is nothing quite like the buzz of watching someone finally 'get' a difficult concept and seeing their confidence instantly shoot up. I’m stepping into tutoring because I genuinely want to be in your corner, and I believe learning a language should be something you actually look forward to, not a boring chore. I bring a lot of energy, real-world experience, and genuine excitement to every session because I truly love what I do, and I can't wait to help you build your confidence and hit your goals together.

For me, teaching and learning isn't a one-way street where I just talk and you take notes. It's a true partnership. In my corporate training role, I work with adults every day, and at home, I’m raising a six-year-old—so I’ve learned that the best way people actually retain information is through genuine engagement and connection. My approach is completely collaborative and conversational. My goal is to create a totally comfortable, judgement free space where you (or your child) feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and build real confidence. We’re in this together, and we’re going to have some fun with it along the way
