About Maya
Hello! My name is Maya, and I am a professional actor/playwright with a specialty in Shakespeare. I have led workshops in playwriting and public speaking at an advanced level. I also have many years of experience teaching and caring for preschool-aged children, so I am very comfortable working with younger age groups. I enjoy tailoring curriculum to a student's specific background, interest, and needs. I'd be excited to help you discover a love of language and a confidence in writing!

I take a personalized approach to tutoring; I like to incorporate materials that the student has a personal interest in such as favorite books, poems, songs, etc. A typical lesson plan could include grammar drills, spelling practice, reading comprehension, creative writing exercises... all depending on what area the student would like to focus on. These lessons can be adjusted for students anywhere from elementary through college level, or for ESL students.
