About Zach
I am working on my BA in Music Education and Saxophone Performance with Selmer Recording Artist Dr. James Barger at West Texas A&M University. I understand what it's like to "plateau" as a young musician, and I guarantee any middle school or high school saxophonist looking to take their playing to the next level will benefit from my library of exercises, techniques, and detailed explanations on the workings of the instrument.

My approach consists of asking the student a series of questions and listening to them play to gauge where they are on their playing journey. Exercises and advice will be given based on this evaluation. Teaching will always start by example so the developing player may have an idea of the sound they are striving for. Questions are greatly encouraged. One of the greatest reasons for taking lessons is so the student may ask specific questions that deal with their challenges in the practice room and receive direct feedback. I plateaued through my first few years of high school by not taking lessons or asking questions about my problems. Simply playing something over and over again will only lead to frustration. That's where I come in!
