About Karen

With over 30 years of experience as a classically trained pianist and teacher, I’ve helped students of all ages and levels (from 4 to 99!) gain the skills they need to grow into confident, expressive musicians. From technique and repertoire to performance confidence, theory, and music history, each lesson is crafted with your individual journey in mind.

You’re not just learning piano—you’re learning how to embrace your own progress, overcome challenges, and develop a deep love for music that will last a lifetime. I’m here to guide you every step of the way, whether you’re with me in person or online.

About the lesson

Having studied advanced pedagogy from Dr. Yelena Balanova, concert pianist and steinway artist my lessons include constant evaluation physically to correct and avoid injury and maintain healthy pain free approach to the piano.

I have developed an online program that with work will give the student accelerated results using personalize practice and lesson videos as well as a monthly master class. This also includes theory and music history .

I work with students in person and online to elevate performance anxiety and be able to play at a level that seemed out of reach.

All levels from beginner to college performance major preparation, and ages 4-99

I strive to make each year I teach a new one and continue to grow as a teacher and performer instead of teaching 1 year and repeating it 30+ times.

Pathway to Mastery is the online program I have developed. It is a program of personalized lesson, technique, artistry, and performance videos. It also include a monthly masterclass, music theory, and music history.

The hourly rate will vary depending on how much time you spend in the. program. The more you use it the more you will get for your money. It is a monthly tuition that will not change even if you submit several videos a week or spend time on the theory and history videos.

All books and materials are not included in online or in-person tuition.

All tuition is charged as a monthly payment based on 3 hours per month in-home and 4 hours per month online.
