About Irene

I hold a degree in Classical Philology, where I spent four years immersed in the translation and analysis of Latin and Greek texts, as well as in the study of their languages and literary traditions. I also hold a Master’s in Secondary Education with a specialization in Latin, Greek, and Classical Culture. In addition, since all my academic training has been carried out in Spanish, I am fully equipped to teach the Spanish language with confidence and clarity. My passion for the ancient world, and for languages in general, drives me to share their richness with others, and I am dedicated to helping students not only understand these subjects but also truly enjoy and appreciate them.

About the lesson

Over the past three years, I have provided private tutoring to both high school and undergraduate students in Latin and Greek, consistently achieving positive outcomes. Additionally, during my teacher-training Master’s program, I worked in a secondary school as an assistant teacher, where I supervised classes and exams, supported students with their questions, and even taught lessons independently. My approach begins with getting a clear understanding of the student’s prior knowledge, level, needs, and goals. From there, I create personalized worksheets and support materials tailored to each learner, prioritizing active learning and genuine understanding rather than simply answering questions. When a difficulty arises, I prefer to guide the student through reasoning and targeted questions so they can reach the answer themselves—an approach that helps ensure real, long-term learning. I also believe that every student has their own pace and learning style, whether visual, practical, or more theoretical. For this reason, I work closely with each learner to adapt my methods and provide the tools that best support them and help them enjoy the learning process.
