About Ian
I’m a native Chinese speaker with a Putonghua Level 2-A certificate, and I studied Chinese Language and Literature at Tianjin Normal University, one of China’s top programs in the field. Currently, I’m pursuing a double degree in Secondary Education and Psychology at Monash University, where I’ve gained hands-on teaching experience through my placement at McKinnon Secondary College.
I teach Chinese not only to share my love for the language and culture but also to deepen my own teaching practice. I believe learning a new language should be engaging and tailored to each student’s goals, whether you’re preparing for exams, traveling, or simply curious about Chinese. With my background in education and psychology, I create a supportive, patient environment to help you build confidence and fluency.
