About Mei
I am an emeritus professor in Department of Chinese Literature at National Central University in Taiwan. Previously, I was a senior lecturer in the School of Languages and Cultures at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, at which I taught all courses in English. In addition, I was a former professional actor of Beijing opera in China.

I have many years of teaching experiences. I am an enthusiastic, patient, and inspirational teacher with both classroom experience and supervision of research and thesis students.
I apply cross-disciplinary approaches to teach Chinese language, literature, culture and societal importance. In addition, I am proficient in online teaching.
I am an internationally recognized expert on Chinese opera (xiqu) that is an integral part of Chinese culture.
