About Mira
I have six years of teaching experience, working with students ranging from beginners learning their first moves to advanced players preparing for tournaments. My teaching approach balances patience and precision, making lessons both structured and engaging so learners can grow at their own pace. In addition to teaching, I consistently study new chess theory and practise in online tournaments. This ongoing involvement helps me bring modern insights and up-to-date strategies into my lessons, keeping the content relevant, engaging, and aligned with how the game evolves today. I believe that chess is more than just a game—it is a way to build discipline, patience, and problem-solving skills. By tailoring lessons to each learner’s needs and celebrating small achievements, I help students not only become stronger players but also develop confidence that extends beyond the chessboard.

My lessons begin with building a strong foundation in the fundamentals, such as understanding openings, piece development, and the importance of controlling the centre. Students practise these concepts through exercises, puzzles, and guided play, which helps them develop confidence and consistency in their early-game approach. As learners progress, I introduce deeper strategies, including middlegame planning, tactical calculations, and recognising positional advantages. By analysing both classic grandmaster games and student games, I help them discover patterns, sharpen decision-making, and learn to think several moves ahead with clarity and confidence. The final stage of lessons emphasises endgame principles, focusing on king activity, pawn promotion, and simplified strategies for winning or drawing challenging positions. Each session is tailored to personal goals, whether competitive preparation or casual improvement, ensuring steady progress and a more complete understanding of chess.
