About Aarav

Hey, I'm Slice — a 21-year-old Materials Engineering student at McGill University, Montreal, originally from Dubai.

Beyond my studies, I spent the past year working as a research intern at a chemistry startup, investigating the rheological properties of non-Newtonian fluids.

Having completed the IB Diploma recently, I know exactly what it takes to succeed — the study techniques that actually work, the exam tricks that save marks, and how to make even the most confusing concepts finally click.

I'm approachable, passionate about science, and genuinely invested in helping every student I work with reach their potential.

About the lesson

Chemistry Tutoring — From Foundations to Exam Success
Grades 8–12 | IB Chemistry (SL & HL) | First-Year University | Middle School

My approach to chemistry is simple: truly understand it, then apply it. Before solving a single problem, I make sure every concept is clear enough that you could explain it to someone with zero chemistry background. Once that foundation is solid, tackling real exam questions and real-world phenomena becomes second nature.

How a Typical Session Works
Every lesson follows a proven structure designed to make knowledge stick:

10–15 min — Focused lecture introducing the topic clearly and intuitively
20 min — Guided worked examples, walking through problems together
5 min — Recap to consolidate what we've covered
10 min — Independent problem set for you to apply what you've learned
5 min — Student-led active recall recap, because teaching something is the best way to truly know it

Obviously I am flexible depending on each individual student's needs and preferences.

Having recently gone through the IB myself, I know exactly what examiners are looking for, how to approach tricky mark schemes, and the shortcuts and memory techniques that actually work under exam pressure. I've been in your seat — I know what's confusing, what trips students up, and how to fix it.

I'm approachable, patient, and genuinely enjoy breaking down hard problems — whether they're chemistry, math, or physics-based. No question is too basic, and no problem is too challenging.
