About Edward
Graduate in Nanochemistry and Physics with over 6 years of teaching experience. I’ve worked with students from Year 9 to university level across NCEA, Cambridge, IB, and university science modules. My background includes tutoring privately, supporting medical school applicants, and teaching in schools and outreach programs. I teach Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Maths for NCEA Level 1–3, IGCSE, A-Level, and IB students, as well as university-level science modules. I’ve worked with students from Year 9 to undergrad — both privately and in classroom settings.
Lessons are fully tailored to each student’s goals, learning style, and pace. I focus on building deep understanding first, then shift to applying that knowledge through topical and full past paper questions to develop strong exam technique.
Students receive clear, personalized notes to support their learning. For university students, I also offer help with tutorials, assignments, lab reports, and coursework — ensuring both content mastery and academic quality across subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Perfect! Ed is a fantastic tutor for our 16-year-old son doing 1st year IB. He is able to shift between teaching chemistry, maths and physics with ease. He is very focused during sessions, provides clear reasoning for complex problems, and makes detailed notes for the student to keep.
- Great student, understands where he needs to improve and is eager to learn!Edward's response :

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
From Parents: Polite, understanding, and professional. Our son progressed well to achieve excellence in his subject. We would love it if he could help our youngest as well. Thanks a million, Edward.
From Student: I felt very comfortable and relaxed with my tutor. Easy to get along with and goes through definitions and explanations in a clear and concise manner. Explains questions with good answer structures and key words to use. Provides and uses real exam questions for lessons and homework and encourages linking back to prior knowledge and making connections to reinforce what you have learned. Thank you, Edward. My teenage son is eager and enthusiastic about his maths lesson! Ed teaches in a style that encourages problem-solving and an applications approach to the theory, along with providing easily understood explanations of the principles.
I have known Ed since secondary school. He is an incredibly hard-working and affable person who has always had a deep interest in maths and science. He has an excellent knowledge of his subject material as well as great communication skills which allow him to teach in an interesting, engaging, and ultimately effective way to his students. I would highly recommend Ed as a tutor!
Working with Ed has been an excellent experience from Day 1. He was very accommodating in finding a time and date that worked for our son. From the very first tutoring session in math's, Ed created a very relaxed environment and made our son feel at ease in reviewing his course work. He was able to help our son "unlock" his understanding of algebra and other concepts that contributed to an improvement in his exam scores and his confidence with math's. We intend to continue working with Ed in the next academic year.
Ed is a patient, and encouraging tutor. He's helped me with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Calculus. All of which he has a great understanding of, and has been able to explain things clearly and in depth. He's been able to provide feedback on other practice questions I've done, and explained how I can improve my answers, which has also been really beneficial to my learning. Overall, Ed is a great tutor and has really helped me with preparing for my end of year exams.
So far it’s been a pleasure working with Edward, although I already somewhat enjoyed chemistry i find that he makes the subject a lot more interesting and enjoyable to learn. I appreciate the time he puts into his students; he looked through all of the topics for my medicine entrance exam to decide what to cover and where to start. He’s friendly, patient and I’m not aftaid to make mistakes around him! Overall, as my second tutor of a subject, I’d highly recommend Edward to anyone looking to get a better grasp on science subjects :)
