About Isabelle

I am a Chemistry teacher with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.

I have extensive experience working with young people, including volunteering work, from time as a Scout leader with teenagers, to tutoring disadvantaged primary school pupils. I bring both my academic expertise and youth experience into every session, adapting to each student’s learning style to ensure they feel supported and challenged.

After university I pursued a corporate career in Investment Management, qualifying as a Chartered Financial Analyst, but realised my true passion is in supporting young people and was delighted to make a career change into teaching.

I have space for two more pupils in the September 2026 academic year. If you're looking for a tutor who is patient, passionate, and committed to your child's success, I’d love to help!

About the lesson

I offer personalised 1 to 1 Oxbridge and university application tuition.

Personal Statement Coaching: I critique personal statements offering feedback and guidance on content and structure, helping articulate your genuine academic curiosity. I can suggest wider reading materials and resources to explore your passion and demonstrate your commitment to the subject.

Interview Practice: Oxbridge interviews are designed to replicate the tutorial-style learning of Oxbridge. They are about the approach of the student, not necessarily whether they reach the right answer. In sessions we unpack interview-style questions and how to approach them. We build problem-solving skills and confidence in exploring a question without an obvious answer and finding a place to start. I will provide feedback on reasoning and critical thinking, and we will practise communicating these in an interview scenario to ensure your interview is as successful as possible.

Advice and strategy: I offer advice on university, course and college selection.

My sessions are supportive and engaging, built on creating a positive, relaxed environment where students feel confident to ask questions. I truly believe that building a student’s confidence is paramount to a successful application.
