About Lyra
My journey in Chemistry began with a fascination for how molecules interact, react, and transform. This curiosity led me to pursue an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, where I developed a solid foundation in theoretical principles, laboratory techniques, and analytical reasoning. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided students at various academic levels, helping them move from confusion and hesitation to clarity and confidence through patient, structured instruction. I approach teaching with attentiveness, clarity, and adaptability. I take time to understand each student’s thinking style and learning preferences, tailoring explanations with diagrams, real-life analogies, and stepwise reasoning. I encourage questions and emphasize that mistakes are part of the learning process, helping students develop resilience and confidence. Outside the classroom, I continue engaging with Chemistry through ongoing study, experimentation, and keeping up with modern research. Teaching Chemistry is profoundly rewarding because I witness learners build independent reasoning, analytical skills, and self-assurance. Supporting their growth and helping them develop a genuine understanding of scientific concepts is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Chemistry becomes approachable and engaging when concepts are broken down into clear, understandable segments. My lessons focus on atomic structure, chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, and energy transformations, with emphasis on reasoning rather than rote memorization. I help students see connections between concepts, which fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Each session is carefully structured to build knowledge progressively, creating a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.
Lesson planning is adapted to the student’s level and pace. Beginners are introduced to chemical symbols, basic reactions, and formula writing using visual explanations and interactive examples. Intermediate learners delve into stoichiometry, periodic trends, acids and bases, and reaction types through guided exercises. Advanced learners explore equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics, and organic reaction pathways with an emphasis on structured problem-solving strategies. Carefully selected practice problems reinforce understanding and help students track progress effectively.
Chemistry lessons also cultivate patience, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking. As students gain clarity, they develop confidence in tackling scientific challenges independently. Many learners begin to appreciate Chemistry as logical, systematic, and understandable. My goal is to help students feel competent, motivated, and confident in applying scientific concepts across contexts.
