About Filip
My name’s Filip Slysz. I graduated with a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews in 2023. Before that, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme with top grades in Chemistry and Physics and 42 out of 45 total points.
I've been a tutor since 2018, delivering over 5000 online and face-to-face lessons in Chemistry, Physics, Science and Maths with over 300 five-star reviews across various platforms. I've helped hundreds of students improve their grades and continue with their studies.
I'm also an active member of various tutor communities, such as The Tutor's Association, which helps me to constantly improve and offer my students a professional service.

I put a lot of emphasis on three things in my lessons: recognising your needs, clear explanations of the concepts of that you need to know, and plenty of practice and polish your skills.
I always do my best to keep my lessons interactive and based on understanding rather than simply giving my students answers straight away. The lesson usually begins with a starter activity to quickly assess what you already understand about a particular topic. We would then fill any gaps in your knowledge and build your understanding of relevant concepts. I tend to follow up with questions and tasks to check your understanding as we go through the content, so it is by no means a lecture. Using the newly acquired knowledge and skills in practice is essential, so the second half of a lesson is spent covering exam-style and past paper questions.
