About Robbie

As a passionate and dedicated chemistry graduate, I bring my profound knowledge and expertise to help you conquer the world of chemistry and mathematics. With years of academic experience under my belt, I am committed to making these subjects not only understandable but also enjoyable for you. I have been lucky enough to work in Scotland, Germany and Finland under some amazing people. Witnessing first hand how the right teacher or explanation can turn a problem into a passion. How overcoming these problems, with the right direction, can be a rewarding experience as a student providing a great sense of achievement. I aim to help my students overcome any academic issues they encounter through their studies in the best ways suited to them.

About the lesson

I provide private tuition in Chemistry from GCSE/ National 5 up to A level and Advanced Higher/ 1st/2nd year University. I also provide maths tuition from GCSE/National 5 to A level/Higher. I am happy to tutor students who are in the earlier years of secondary school also.

I like to adjust my teaching strategy to the individual students needs, as we all learn and retain information in different ways. My goal is to find a way in which I can help students become comfortable with the material they are studying, and tackle any problems they have encountered. I like to help students understand each area of study we cover, rather than simply providing answers that can be found elsewhere.

I have a first class masters degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Glasgow as well as a post graduate Masters in Chemical Biology from the same institution. I have 3 years of experience working 1 on 1 with students helping them complete tutorials, projects and preparing for exams. I have completed several short post graduate courses in teaching and supervising students studies as part of my masters degree. I spent time running group and individual tutorials, leading teaching lab sessions and directly supervising final year dissertation students.

Typically sessions last 1 hour, but I'm flexible and willing to provide longer or shorter sessions if this suits the student. I am available to provide tuition through out the school day, during the evening or at the weekend.

I am happy to answer any questions regarding my lessons, and provide any further information you may need/want.
