About Fiona
My passion for chemistry began with fascination for the unseen processes that govern matter. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemistry, where I developed expertise in both theoretical principles and laboratory practices. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided students from initial uncertainty to confident problem-solvers, emphasizing understanding, critical thinking, and practical application. I prioritize a patient, clear, and structured teaching approach. Many students struggle because chemistry is presented abstractly. I break concepts into logical steps, use visual aids, real-life examples, and interactive exercises to make lessons engaging and accessible. Encouraging questions, curiosity, and independent reasoning is central to my methodology. Outside teaching, I continue to explore chemistry through research reading, lab experiments, and observing applications in daily life. These activities enrich my lessons and provide contemporary relevance. Teaching chemistry is rewarding because I see students gain confidence, analytical skills, and a genuine curiosity for the chemical world, equipping them for both academic success and lifelong learning.

I emphasize connecting theoretical concepts to practical applications, making lessons engaging, structured, and interactive, fostering both understanding and confidence.
Lesson content is customized for student level. Beginners focus on basic atomic concepts, simple reactions, and fundamental calculations. Intermediate learners explore stoichiometry, chemical equilibria, kinetics, and laboratory experiments. Advanced learners engage with complex reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and analytical reasoning for exams or projects. Step-by-step explanations, practical exercises, and real-world examples reinforce comprehension.
Chemistry lessons also nurture critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Students learn to approach experiments and theoretical problems methodically, interpret results accurately, and apply concepts independently.
