About Joseph
Hi, I'm Joseph. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a PhD in Chemistry. My love for science started in high school when my chemistry teacher sparked the flame that would last. I enjoy playing the guitar, backpacking, and mountain biking. I also have a passion for learning and teaching. I have garnered 11 years of professional tutoring and teaching and have taught various college chemistry courses (e.g. General 1&2, Inorganic 1&2, and Organic for nutrition majors). My goal is to educate your student as effectively as possible in a way that will inspire them to continue seeking education for themselves.

My approach to tutoring/teaching starts with the existing knowledge base of the student. I apply the Socratic method whenever a question is raised so that I can carefully evaluate the level of understanding that is already there. I'm a big believer of enthusiasm-driven learning. That is why real-life applications are essential -- especially in the realm of chemistry.
