About Max

I am a Chemical Engineering student with two years of GCSE tutoring experience, improving my tutee's grade by two grade boundaries in both Chemistry and Physics. During school, I was part of the 'less well behaved' group and have found passion in focusing on students who are less motivated to do the work. Through my time tutoring, I have learnt what is essential to developing scientific knowledge: visualisations, processes, and logical reasoning.

About the lesson

Science is a subject obsessed with jargon, principles, and layered theories. My approach is to start from the bottom without the jargon, working our way up through underlying mechanisms and concepts to relate the world to itself. Science is about navigating the environment as we see it, not how it's told to us.

Perfect! Max is a fantastic tutor! The help he is giving my son is helping massively. He is patient and his explanations are clear and easy to understand and there’s nothing he doesn’t know about science. Max had my son figured out within about 5 minutes and understands his learning/revision style completely. An extra bonus is that he is totally relatable to a young lad which definitely made my son feel at ease and more confident with his learning.
