About Robert

After 4 years working as a Chemical and Biochemical Engineer in the industry, 3 years in Tutoring and more than 8 years in academic manuscript editing, I’ve learned that the hardest part of any science subject isn't the math—it’s connecting the theory to the real world. My professional career has taken me through fertilizer production, steel manufacturing and sensor R&D engineering where I’ve had to apply fluid dynamics, chemistry and other fields to solve genuine, high-stakes problems.

I am not just a tutor; I am an engineer who knows what it takes to succeed in the field. I understand the frustration of staring at a textbook or a lab report that doesn't make sense. I’ve spent my career mentoring junior engineers, and I apply that same patience and clarity to my tutoring. I will ensure that you understand a concept so thoroughly that you will be able to explain it to someone else in plain English.

The essence of my teaching style - I strip away the jargon and focus on building your intuition. Whether you are looking to survive a "weeder" course, improve your grade, or gain a deeper understanding of the subject, I bring a professional, structured, and reliable approach to every session. I treat my tutoring sessions with the same level of professionalism and preparation as I did my industrial projects, ensuring you get the absolute best value for your time.

Most engineering and chemistry textbooks show you the ideal scenario. Real life—and the engineering industry—rarely works that way. After 4 years of working as a Chemical Engineer in Fertilizer Production, Steel Manufacturing and Sensor development R&D I’ve learned that the secret to mastering Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Thermodynamics and other fields isn’t just memorizing formulas; it’s understanding the "why" behind the math.

Why learn with me?
I remember the vague theory-based lectures in University - as a matter of fact many times I had to read the textbook because not much insight was gained during the lecture. That’s why I teach. I want to be the mentor I wish I’d had—someone who can simplify complex concepts without stripping away the technical rigor. I am not here to just give you the answer; I am here to teach you how to think through the problem so you never get stuck on it again.

My Approach
I don’t just lecture; I troubleshoot. When we are working through an Organic Chemistry mechanism or a Thermodynamic cycle, I treat it like a live engineering problem. We pull the concept apart, identify the constraints, and build the solution step-by-step.

The "Real World" Check: Whether it's troubleshooting a reactor startup or balancing mass and energy, I’ll show you exactly how the textbook theory applies to the plant floor.

Active Problem Solving: We won’t just go through slides. We will work through your specific assignments, lab reports, and exam prep, digging into the root cause of why a concept isn't clicking.

Direct, No-Nonsense Feedback: You will get honest, clear assessments. If you’re overcomplicating a reaction or missing a fundamental assumption in your thermodynamics model, I’ll tell you—and then I’ll show you how to fix it.

Who these lessons are for
I work best with university students who are tired of being confused and are ready to stop guessing and start understanding. If you are struggling with a specific lab, prepping for a high-stakes exam, or just trying to survive a notoriously difficult "weeder" course, let’s get to work!
