About Alicia
I am a Chemical Engineer working in the industry for 8 years. I previously worked as a laboratory assistant where I taught classes of first and second year students. I also worked as a self employed private tutor while studying, where I tutored and coached high school students in mathematics and physics. Average grade increase from average 40 - 45% to 60 - 70%. I am motivated and passionate to teach and enjoy being able to help students understand concepts, to a point where the confusion fog disappears and the light of understanding dawns.

My teaching style is usually adjusted to suite my students' learning style, however, I like to use real life examples to make concepts easier to understand. I like to assess where problem areas are, and start from the most basic concepts to ensure deep understanding of the work. I offer planned lessons based on the student's needs. This goes hand-in-hand with homework and practice, and communication between tutor and student.
