About Hope
I began tutoring in high school and continued through college. After graduating from Texas State University with a degree in Mathematics, I earned my teaching certificate in Mathematics 7-12. I worked as a math teacher in Austin ISD for 2 years. Through this experience I learned that despite the hard work of teachers and schools, the demands of the education system often make it difficult to meet the needs of every student. This is why I have chosen to step out of the classroom and resume tutoring.

I have known Hope since she was in middle school, and she has always been a wonderful student and is now an incredible teacher and tutor.
When my daughter was little, we tried everything to teach her how to tie her shoes, but she just could not seem to get it. Hope sat down with her and had her tying her shoes in one day! That has always been a perfect example of Hope’s patience, kindness, and ability to teach in a way that makes sense to the person she is helping.
Years later, when my daughter was struggling with advanced math in middle school, the first thing we did was call Hope. She was able to patiently guide my daughter through the material and help her understand concepts that had been frustrating her. Meanwhile, her dad and I were about ready to lose our minds!
Whether Hope is teaching, tutoring, or simply helping someone in her everyday life, she always shows up with patience, kindness, and a willingness to walk you through things from a fresh perspective. She has a natural gift for teaching and connecting with people, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a math tutor who genuinely cares about her students and wants to see them succeed.
I can’t recommend Hope Long enough! She tutored my daughter throughout high school and most recently helped her prepare for her college math placement test.
My daughter has dyslexia and ADD, so traditional ways of teaching math haven’t always worked well for her. What made Hope so incredible was her ability to figure out how my daughter learns and explain concepts in ways that actually made sense to her. She was patient, encouraging, and willing to approach a problem differently until she found the method that clicked.
The results were amazing. We watched her go from struggling and failing math to making A’s, but even more importantly, she gained confidence in herself and realized that she absolutely could do math when it was taught in a way she understood.
Most recently, Hope helped my daughter prepare for her college placement test, and she PASSED—meaning she didn’t have to take remedial math in college! That was such a huge accomplishment for her and something we are incredibly proud of.
Hope didn’t just help my daughter improve her grades; she helped change the way she felt about her own abilities. We are so thankful we found her and would highly recommend Hope to any parent looking for a patient, knowledgeable tutor who truly understands that every student learns differently. My daughter Hope loves math. It has been her passion since the 6th grade when her algebra teacher, Mr. Morgan, inspired her love for the subject and her desire to teach it. I tried to talk her out of it. I told her she could make more money using math in other ways, but she stuck to her own path to become a high school math teacher. Although that was fulfilling, she wanted more. She wanted to help the kids that were really struggling, so she started The Hope Factor Tutoring. She had the idea when she was a college student and worked for a tutoring service, and she loved it. She knows how to teach the math concepts many kids struggle with. If you have a child that is struggling or you are a student that needs help with any math subject, give her a call or schedule an appointment online. You won't regret it.
I've known Hope for years — she's my wife, so I've had a front-row seat to how she works with students. She's patient in a way I'm not, and she's good at figuring out where someone actually got lost instead of re-explaining the same thing louder. Math was never my strong suit and she's still managed to make parts of it click for me. If you want someone who'll meet a student where they are, that's her.
I highly recommend Hope in mathematical lessons! She is patient, kind, intelligent, and will help walk through and guide you through any challenges that you’re facing. She helps ensure that the lesson that you’re looking for is tailored to how you learn and has a very positive attitude that provides comfort when your struggling.
