Hello! My name is Jacqueline, and I am a passionate, qualified educator with over five years of teaching experience in a dual language immersion program in Long Beach, California. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I specialize in working with young learners ages 5 to 10. As a certified bilingual teacher, I understand the importance of creating a positive, engaging, and supportive environment where children can confidently develop language skills in both Spanish and English. About the lesson

Hello! I'm Jaqueline, a certified bilingual educator with five years of experience teaching in a dual immersion Spanish program in Long Beach, California. My teaching approach is student-centered, culturally responsive, and grounded in the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education.

I design my lessons around the California Common Core Standards, ensuring academic rigor while adapting to each student’s individual pace and learning style. My lessons are intentionally connected and scaffolded, meaning each session builds upon the last to deepen understanding and support long-term language development.

A typical lesson includes:

A warm-up or review activity to activate prior knowledge

Introduction of new content through visuals, stories, or interactive practice

Guided practice using real-world contexts

A closing activity that reinforces learning and checks understanding

What sets me apart is my deep understanding of language acquisition and bilingual education, as well as my ability to create engaging, meaningful lessons that make students feel confident, seen, and motivated.

English-speaking children (ages 5–10) learning Spanish
Spanish-speaking children (ages 5–10) learning English
