About John
I'm a New York State certified elementary teacher (K-6) with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and edTPA mastery-level certification which is one of the highest standards for teaching practice in the United States.
For nearly a decade, I've worked exclusively with struggling math students, specializing in identifying the precise skill gaps holding a child back and closing them efficiently.
I speak English, Spanish, and Italian, and I bring the same structure, accountability, and care to every online lesson that I would to a certified classroom.
My goal with every student is the same: find where understanding broke down, rebuild it, and help them walk into class with real confidence.

My approach: I start every new student with a diagnostic session to find that exact gap — not a guess, a precise answer. Then we close it, and everything above it starts making sense again. No wasted time re-teaching what your child already knows.
A typical lesson: A quick warm-up to see where they're at, focused practice on the specific skill we're targeting, and a clear recap so you and your child can see the progress in plain terms, not just "we did some math."
