About Michael
I am a certified Physics and Mathematics teacher with over two decades of experience teaching, tutoring, and working in technical STEM fields. I work with high school, AP, IB, and college-level students across a wide range of Physics and Mathematics courses.
I tutor Physics, Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry, and standardized test preparation for SAT and ACT, as well as college-level Physics, Calculus, and Engineering courses. I have extensive experience supporting students online and adapting instruction to different curricula and learning styles.
In addition to teaching, I previously worked as an aerospace systems engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State and a Master of Arts in Education from Penn West (formerly California University of Pennsylvania). My focus is helping students develop clarity, accuracy, and confidence in physics and math through well-structured, results-oriented instruction.
All sessions are conducted online.
I am happy to consider requests for math and physics topics not explicitly listed above.

My lessons are structured, targeted, and designed around the student’s specific course, level, and academic goals. Sessions focus on identifying gaps in understanding, reviewing the necessary theory, and working through problems step by step until the approach is clear and repeatable.
I work with students at all levels, including:
- High school Physics and Mathematics
- AP Physics and AP Mathematics
- IB Physics and Mathematics (SL & HL)
- College and university Physics, Calculus, and Engineering courses
Subjects covered include:
- Physics: mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, optics, thermodynamics, and introductory modern physics
- Mathematics: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations
- Chemistry: introductory and high school level
- SAT and ACT preparation: SAT Math and Reading/Writing; ACT Math, English, and Science
Lessons emphasize correct problem setup, unit analysis, logical reasoning, and exam strategy so students make fewer errors and become more independent problem solvers. Sessions are optimized for online learning and are focused on upcoming assignments, exams, and long-term academic improvement.

I started working with Michael after failing my first exam in my physics mechanics class and felt pretty stressed about the course. Michael worked through practice problems and questions with me, which helped me understand how to apply the concepts to the kinds of problems I see in class. His explanations were clear and easy to follow. I feel confident about the material now and know I’ll be able to earn a passing grade in the class. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone struggling with college physics.
My daughter Cassandra was really struggling in her physics class and felt discouraged by the way the material was being taught at school. Working with Michael completely changed that. He took the time to explain concepts in a way that finally made sense to her and helped her actually enjoy learning physics. Her grade improved to an A, and we’re very thankful for his support. We highly recommend him.
Michael tutored my son Preston in AP Physics C while he was working at Revolution Prep. When they began, Preston had a C in the class, and with Michael’s help he raised his grade to an A and earned a 5 on the AP Physics C exam. Michael explained complex concepts clearly and helped Preston gain confidence in the material. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent physics tutor.
