About Pablo

Hello! I am a certified native Spanish tutor from Guatemala with over 20 years of teaching experience, helping students make real progress. Whether you are preparing for exams like GCSE and A-level or simply aiming to improve your Spanish skills, I can help! I teach all ages and levels. I have a teaching certificate from the University of San Carlos and am a native Spanish speaker. Through my lessons, my students improve not only in fluency but also confidence. I'd like you to experience the same! I also strive to be affordable so that lessons are accessible to all, and offer a flexible pricing structure. Being from Guatemala, we are known for our clear, neutral Spanish accent, which can help you learn more efficiently. I believe that learning should always be engaging and relevant, and I put this philosophy at the heart of my teaching. Outside of teaching, I enjoy watching movies, playing football with my son, and spending time with my family. About the lesson

In our first lesson, I’ll assess your current level and tailor the lessons to your needs. For beginners, we will work through structured exercises to help you quickly grasp key topics and start building your own sentences in no time. For advanced learners, conversational lessons can be particularly beneficial. I also have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE, A-Level, and DELE exams, and we can incorporate past paper practice sessions to boost your confidence. I teach from my dedicated "online classroom," equipped with a full-size whiteboard and high-quality resources, many of which I’ve created myself. These resources have a 20-year success record in helping students learn Spanish quickly and effectively. After each lesson, I will provide detailed written feedback so you can easily track your progress. There will also be homework after every class, which we’ll review and correct together in the following session. I encourage you to book a free trial lesson with me!

1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
I speak Spanish fluently because of my origin. I am from Guatemala and was born in Guatemala City but from a young age moved to west of the country. I have lived in Quetzaltenango for many years which is famous for its Spanish schools - many people travel here to learn the language.
2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra I would say is the Shakespeare of the Spanish speaking world. His book "Don Quijote de la Mancha" is a classic that is taught across the world.
3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
The Spanish phrase that I like most is:
El amor siempre es la respuesta
Love is always the answer

I am a romantic at heart!
4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Aside from the fact that it is a beautiful language it is important to me because it is part of my roots and culture.
5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I think many people struggle with the complexity of the grammar tenses. I always try to make the classes engaging and form activities that identify the different necessities for each student.
6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
I had a student who was 83 years old and one of his dreams was to learn Spanish. With a lot of effort he managed to do it and was one of my proudest moments.
7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
Spanish is a very dynamic language and travelling around will let you meet people who use different expressions or colloquial terms.
8) What makes you a Superprof in language?
Simple - because I love my profession.
