About Emmanuel

I am a certified teacher and a musicologist who majors in jazz and classical saxophone playing, clarinet playing, piano playing, and music theory.

As a certified and trained teacher, I have not only learnt how to professionally play these instruments, but I've also been trained on how to teach the art of playing the saxophone, clarinet and piano to different levels of students. I've also been trained on how to teach the concepts of music theory to different levels of students.

I have taught 10 students on saxophone, 3 on students on clarinet, 5 students on piano, and 15 students in music theory, most of whom have taken graded professional music exams in practical saxophone, clarinet, piano, and music theory and have performed excellently.

I'm sure that I can help you or your child master the art of saxophone, clarinet, or piano playing or the concept of music theory.

For the saxophone or clarinet client, the student will need to have a saxophone or clarinet of his/her own, or have full access to one so that he/she can practice anytime. I will be happy to help you properly learn saxophone/clarinet/piano playing and music theory.

About the lesson

For the saxophone and clarinet, I will follow the syllabus of the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) or the jazz saxophone syllabus of the Trinity College of Music, London.

For the piano, I will follow the syllabus of the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) and the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM).

For music theory, I will follow the syllabus of the Musical Society of Nigeria and the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, grade 1-5.

I will also introduce printed and video materials that will enhance the student's learning.

My classes will be student-centered and will involve short periodic assessments for the students. For the saxophone, clarinet and piano students, I will also expose the student(s) to basic music theory, that will help the student(s) practice independently, and to also be able to read music. The students will also be exposed to basic Ear/Aural skills training.
