About Jennifer
I am a certified math educator with experience teaching middle school math, high school math, and adult learners. My background includes classroom teaching, GED preparation, online instruction, and coaching students through challenging concepts with patience and structure.
I believe students learn best when they feel respected, supported, and safe asking questions. My goal is to help students build both math understanding and confidence, whether they need help catching up, preparing for a test, strengthening study habits, or learning how to approach problems more independently.
I bring a calm, encouraging teaching style and a strong ability to break complex ideas into clear, manageable steps.

My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and confidence-building. I start by finding out where a student feels stuck, what they already understand, and what kind of support helps them learn best. From there, I break math into clear steps, model problem-solving strategies, and give students guided practice until they can explain the process in their own words.
A typical lesson may include a quick review of current classwork, targeted practice on confusing concepts, test or homework support, and study strategies students can use between sessions. I also help students build organization, note-taking, and problem-solving habits so they feel more independent over time.
I work with middle school and high school math students, as well as adult learners preparing for GED or foundational math goals. What sets me apart is that I don’t just teach procedures. I help students understand what they are doing, why it works, and how to approach problems with more confidence.
