About Esther
I've taught for 2 years in French high schools and I've also given private lessons.
I really enjoy teaching and create material. I'm always striving to create lessons on topics that will raise my student's interest.
As I said, I'm patient, supportive and I encourage my students. I do not give up easily (I actually can't think of an instance where I gave up on a student).
Also, as I mentioned before, I do think the teacher-student relationship can be friendly as long as there's mutual respect.
On a more intimate level, I'm passionate about languages (I speak fluently French, English, Spanish and I'm B1 in Hindi and Italian), I lived in different countries (France, Spain, United Kingdom, Canada) and I also have a degree in audiovisual. I'm a movie and TV series buff and I could talk for hours about my favorite stories and characters. I'm also a big fan of rock 'n' roll, love photography and -how surprising- travelling.

I don't have one single methodology: I adapt according to the tastes and needs of my students. For example if you want to learn in a funny manner, we can do games, challenges, work on movies or TV series, songs…; or if you want to learn in a more intensive way, I can provide thematic lexicons, conjugation grids, grammar lessons, exams and so on. I also practice a mixed methodology where "classic" lessons intertwine with playful activities.
And if you want to talk or work on a specific topic, I will create material focusing on your interests.
The plan of a lesson depends on what you want to work on and your objectives. It also depends on whether you want to improve your oral or written skills.
I know it’s not always easy to choose a teacher or a tutor but what I can guarantee you is that I’m someone patient and supportive. I do know that mistakes are part of the process of learning a language and I will motivate you and encourage you in your progress.
I’m also dedicated: I usually provide personalized feedback so you can significantly upgrade your level.
In addition, all my teaching material is learning disorders-friendly along with color codes that help to memorize.
At last, I think a relationship between a teacher and a student can be friendly as long as there is mutual respect.
The lessons are for beginners, intermediates, advanced, regardless of age. Vocabulary is one of my strongest suits and I developed vocabulary lists throughout the years with idiomatic expressions from British as American English. I'm knowledgeable in everyday life vocabulary, as well as literary or business English.
