About Ilham

I was born and raised in the United States of America. I lived in Connecticut for 25 years before moving abroad to Azerbaijan. I discovered my passion for teaching in high school. I would always be the student who helped others with their exams or homework, and if they succeeded I felt pride in helping them. When I first entered the workforce I worked in the transportation industry for an express courier company. After working there for a few years I decided that I wanted to pursue teaching so I started teaching English online. At 25 years old, I decided to move to Azerbaijan to experience something new. Here, I started teaching English professionally in language courses and schools. I have taught students of all levels and ages, and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to have a great impact on many people's lives as their teacher. During my teaching career so far, I have met a lot of people and learned a lot of things about different cultures and lives. I get great pleasure in seeing my students grow and develop their language skills to reach their goals in life. I want to have the opportunity to help many more people around the world learn English and reach their goals. Aside from teaching, I love to play guitar, learn about the world, create art, and eat good food.

About the lesson

My lessons are interactive and full of communication. Each lesson is designed specifically for the student to suit their learning preferences. During a typical lesson, I go over some aspects of the language in detail and we practice using that knowledge with various speaking activities. In my lessons, I love to use materials, such as articles and videos, that are relevant to the student and I create activities that help students speak in the real world. My lessons are for students of all levels and ages.
