About Marie

English teacher having obtained the CAPES and currently teaching English as a Second Language in high school, I will help you with whatever difficulties you are struggling with, as well as any goal you may wish to make. After a year of Classes Préparatoires in the Lycée Henri IV in Paris, I went in to complete my English studies in college with a Licence LLCER (Languages, Literature and Civilization either Foreign or Regional) and a Master MEEF (Education). I am bilingual and speak American English but can modulate it to teach a British accent if there lies your taste.

About the lesson

Whether you are looking to help your middle or high school child in their learning or you are a university student yourself, we can work together on themes and activities as varied as the practice of spoken and conversational English, oral comprehension techniques as well as fine reading of written documents of all kinds (literary, critical, journalistic ...), or even translation, depending on your needs. My middle and high school lessons are based on national secondary education programs, both in terms of the concepts addressed but also where the language content we work on is concerned. I also use the descriptors of the CECRL, a European document used by the Ministry of Education to evaluate the language proficiency of students in the school system of European countries. It gives precise criteria to be used by foreign language teachers to assess students skills and to decide on attainable goals for them according to what grade they are in. I am passionate about Anglo-Saxon culture and therefore center my lessons on all that relates to it, as well as on current events and on cultural subjects both past and current to maintain the interest of the student (as well as mine!). It is about learning together, no matter where we start from to achieve our goals calmly and gain self-confidence along the way.

26 euros for an hour of lesson, including the evaluation/correction of potential exercizes as well as the preparation of said lesson. Add 4 euros to that if I need to move outside of Bordeaux itself, knowing I do not have the possibility of hosting lessons in my own home.
For a five-hour pack, 110 euros. For a ten-hour pack, 220 euros.
