About Staci
Mom of 6 +1, educatoIr for over 20 years, certified English Language Arts and Special Education.
Our big family has taught me that I have yet to find an age of kids I don't like. Our oldest is 28, our youngest is 14.
I am known as the "Energizer Bunny." I love to have fun. If there is a way to make something fun, I will do it.
My favorite classes to teach are Forensics, Biology, Novel Writing, and Reading. I love Forensics and Biology because there are so many labs. I love Novel Writing because students are so very creative in that class -- I love to read their work! I love to teach reading because it is incredibly important for life. I believe everyone can learn to read. Some people just need more time that others to gain that specific skill.

I like to teach with manipulatives, posters, and mnemonic devices. I take the "I do, we do, you do" approach to teaching grammar.
I have taken reading specialist classes (LETRS/Science of Reading) and have taught struggling readers. I have experience teaching in summer reading programs as well as special education in public, charter, and home school settings.
I've been teaching for over 20 years. I love kids of all ages and have tools for teaching all ages.
My most wonderful accomplishments are that one student entered her novel in a contest and won a trip to Washington DC to meet with publishers and another student was able to win a scholarship based on the essay I helped him with.
My teaching motto: I won't do it for you, but I will help you every step of the way until you can do it yourself.
