About Marisa
I have taught K-5 bilingual students for 31.5 years with success. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham techniques and understand how difficult reading can be as English is my second language. English is very complicated and I like to make it easy for my students. I love to read high-interest texts so I allow my students to choose what they want to read. With respect to Math - well Math is cool. It’s just a matter of understanding the rules and finding patterns. Numbers can be fun!!

I can help you unlock the code to reading with comprehension and enjoy learning from the reading along with writing effectively. I really love working with numbers and can make that enjoyable too.If you can unlock the code then you can enjoy being in a classroom setting a lot more!! Too often a classroom has too many students for 1 teacher, therefore a one to one can take away the anxiety and frustration since the tutor can differentiate for the needs of the individual. I can do this in Spanish and English.
