About Li
To be honest I have no experience in teaching mandarin at all, but I was an English private tutor for a year in China. I had four students back then and all of them were not interested in English at all(they just wanted to pass the IELTS exam), and after that year, they all got a decent grade in the exam and more importantly, they all love to learn English. It might sounds a bit arrogant if someone has no past experience at all to say that he's gonna be an awesome Chinese teacher, but what I think is to be a good language tutor-no matter what that language is, requires similar characteristics: one must be professional with that language, must has unique insights on the Culture and Society, and must has the ability to inspire the students to learn. So why don't you give me a try, it's for free and there's a big chance that I'm the guy you're look for!

I'm pretty sure that you don't learn Chinese simply because you just want to learn a new language(which is totally fine but less fun), you also wanna learn China. When I say China I mean all the fun parts of China. There must be something that interests you, it could be Chinese films, books ,paints, politics, history, philosophy even foods! And I believe that the best way to learn a language is by integrating into it. So I won't just ask you to remember the vocab and grammar, which is the most boring thing to do in the world, even though those are indeed essential. Here's what I'm gonna do: I'm gonna find what topic may interests you, and I'll put the vocab and grammar with that content together, so you will learn in a fun and effective way. For example, in the first five minute I could tell you a Chinese story, or show you a part of a Chinese movie etc, and you could ask question and make comments on it, and then I could introduce the stuff I'm aiming to teach, which are covered in a well prepared PowerPoint, I will use a lot of examples to make things clear. Be aware that the class won't be just me talking there, I'll encourage you to speak and write, a lot!
