About Maniketh Reddy
To often, the fear of being wrong or being laughed at can prevent students from participating in class. It is our job as educators to help break down those psychological and social barriers to provide a space where students of any learning ability can try their best. When we do this, we create a sense of trust among students, which has been shown to improve relationships, increase engagement, boost creativity and performance, and help people feel included and respected.
Of course, there are numerous definitions of trust. But, in general, it refers to our confidence in the reliability of another person—usually with respect to reaching a certain outcome. For students to feel comfortable participating in our courses, we need to gain their trust.
In higher education classrooms, our specific outcomes may differ among courses or throughout a semester. But when we can activate trust and positive emotions among our students, we help them foster cooperative relationships, build resilience and persistence, and increase motivation, all skills they’ll need to succeed in the workplace after graduation.

For me, teaching is part of learning. As I am teaching I am also learning from my learners as they are diverse. Each learner in the classroom brings his or her unique background and ability. These are the elements that I invest in my teaching. Moreover, I allow learners to be themselves. This is a way of creating a conducive environment for learning.
