About Kavya
I was born and raised in California, with a passion for teaching. I am an incredibly patient person who feels that learning is done at any age. Though I have never lived in India, I do speak Tamil. Since I was a child, Carnatic Music, specifically, has fascinated me. Performing at my local temple weekly gave me the confidence to do a concert of my own put on by a local organization. I have received various opportunities to sing in organizations, and have been blessed with great teachers, allowing me to continue my journey. I am ready to pass on some of the knowledge which I have compiled over the years and hope it will be beneficial for you!

Hello! I am a current high school senior with a passion for teaching. I have provided tutoring services for underprivileged children and private tutoring in both English and Math for 5 years. Since I was 3 years old, I have been learning Carnatic Music from Padmavathy Ananthagopalan -- renowned violinist Lalgudi Jayaraman's sister -- biweekly. I currently know over 85 krithis and almost 20 varnams. I am open to teaching students any age, beginning or intermediate, tailored to the need and want of the student.
