About Jonathan

Years ago, my director asked for me to teach a class on a medical device. I learned later this was to be taught to a group of cardiologists. I was incredibly nervous, but I found that I greatly enjoyed the experience. Hearing that I taught the subject in a way that made clear sense spurred me to continue teaching in some capacity. I became an education coordinator of nurses transitioning from school to work or nurses who were transitioning to ICU level of care. I have created plenty of documents, essays, and presentations that are used by the hospital in which I work. My time in school was difficult and incredibly stressful and looking back I realized that it was entirely unnecessary. My goal is to inspire confidence in students so that they go into the classroom ready to grow their knowledge. I want my tutoring to be a relaxed atmosphere where there is no judgment and no time-crunch. We can stay on the same topic for as long as is needed to ensure true solid understanding. The things I teach I use myself in everyday work in the hospital. From open heart surgeries to catastrophic brain injuries and every little thing in between I constantly learn more and am excited to share this with others.

About the lesson

I can teach you anything from basic anatomy and physiology to critical care level care management. If you are completing pre-requisites or in nursing school I am excited to help you get through it without too much stress. I have experience in teaching specialty classes for nursing students, nurses, and physicians on a wealth of topics.

A typical lesson plan from me will be chosen by you- a general overview of the material (basic kidney anatomy), a focused tutoring on a specific topic (introduction to hemodynamics), or a deep-dive into a specialty topic (sodium- and potassium-gated channels in cardiac myocytes). We will work together to determine your goals and form a lesson plan to match that.

I am constantly learning myself, even after 10 years. Every few months I focus on a new aspect of medicine and study it in detail. On top of tutoring you, I will learn even more about the same subject.

I can teach at any school level from 9th grade through college. I can also teach those who are just starting in the nursing field or have been working for a while, but want to expand on their knowledge. My specialty is cardiovascular care, but I have deep knowledge and experience in all aspects of medical care.
