About Karabo

Hello, my name is Karabo, and I am a CAPS Mathematics tutor for Grades 8 to 12 with a strong analytical background in Chemical Engineering. I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and have many years of experience applying mathematics in scientific and professional environments, as well as supporting learners through private tutoring.

I am a patient, structured, and professional tutor who understands that many learners struggle with Mathematics not because of ability, but because concepts were not clearly explained from the start. I focus on building understanding step by step, helping learners gain confidence and develop sound problem-solving skills aligned to the CAPS curriculum.

I take my tutoring responsibilities seriously and aim to create a supportive learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges. My lessons are well prepared, focused, and tailored to each learner’s needs, whether they require help with fundamentals, ongoing support, or exam preparation.

I work primarily in English and support CAPS Mathematics learners from Grades 7 to 10 who are willing to engage and improve. My goal is to help learners approach Mathematics with greater confidence, clarity, and consistency, leading to steady improvement in their results.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is structured, patient, and results-focused, with a strong emphasis on helping learners truly understand Mathematics rather than memorising procedures. With an analytical background from Chemical Engineering, I am skilled at breaking down complex concepts into clear, logical steps that learners can follow with confidence.

I begin by assessing each learner’s current understanding to identify gaps and areas of difficulty. Lessons are then tailored to address these gaps using explanations, worked examples, and guided practice aligned to the CAPS curriculum. I place strong emphasis on exam techniques, common mistakes, and how marks are allocated, helping learners improve both accuracy and performance.

A typical lesson includes a brief review of previous work, focused explanation of key concepts, step-by-step problem solving, and practice questions similar to tests and exams. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and think through problems logically, building both competence and confidence.

I teach in English and am comfortable working with learners from different backgrounds and ability levels. My lessons are aimed at CAPS Mathematics learners from Grades 8 to 12, including those who need support with fundamentals, exam preparation, or confidence building ahead of tests and final examinations.

My goal is to help learners feel more confident in Mathematics, approach problems methodically, and steadily improve their results through consistent, well-structured support.
