About Ade

Hello, I'm Ade (call me Coach Ade)! I'm a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA), MBA graduate of Queen's University and Cornell University, certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and an experienced college instructor and business consultant.

For over 20 years, my professional journey has taken me from the classroom to corporate boardrooms, working with organizations across government, healthcare, telecommunications, and financial services. Along the way, I've discovered that one of the most rewarding parts of my career is helping people develop the knowledge and confidence to succeed.

I've taught Accounting, Business, and IT Governance courses at Canadian institutions, including the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), Bredin College, and Campbell College. I've worked with students from different educational and professional backgrounds, including adult learners returning to school and professionals developing new career skills.

Beyond teaching, I've led and advised on major business transformation initiatives involving financial management, business strategy, project management, and organizational improvement. These experiences allow me to share practical insights that go well beyond textbook examples.

I'm also passionate about leadership, communication, and personal development. My involvement with Toastmasters International, including serving as a District Director, has strengthened my belief that everyone can develop new skills with the right guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to practice.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is simple: understanding comes before memorization.

Accounting, finance, and business management become much easier when you understand how the concepts work in real life. My goal is to help you connect what you learn in the classroom to the decisions businesses and professionals make every day.

I bring together years of experience as a college instructor, Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and management consultant to make lessons practical, engaging, and easy to follow.

How my lessons work

I tailor each lesson to your current knowledge, learning goals, and preferred pace. A typical 60-minute session includes:

10 minutes: Review previous learning, clarify questions, and identify areas needing attention.

20 minutes: Explain key concepts using relatable examples and practical business situations.

20 minutes: Work through exercises, case studies, financial calculations, or software demonstrations together.

10 minutes: Review your understanding, address difficulties, and agree on the next steps.

My approach emphasizes active participation, guided problem-solving, and building your confidence to work independently.

What I teach

My lessons cover financial and management accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, business analysis, project management, and business planning. I also provide practical guidance on Excel, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Sage 50.
