About Guillermo
"Beginners often think that playing chess is about memorising every possible variation on the board. Actually, success comes from internalising simple tactical patterns and maintaining king safety first.
I work with students who want to build a solid foundation through deliberate practice. My instruction covers pawn structures, endgame technique, pattern recognition, middlegame planning, time management, and opening repertoire building.
I have taught 130 students to sharpen their analytical focus. My approach is disciplined and keeps the complexity manageable. I bring 13 years of experience to every match. Results improve when you learn to think ahead."

"Starting with a diagnostic rating assessment allows me to understand your current playing style, which is honestly the only way to identify your specific blind spots. Having taught for 13 years, I have seen how quickly players improve when they stop guessing and start calculating sequences with patience and logic. My method emphasises the transition from basic openings into complex middlegame planning, ensuring you remain in control of the board throughout the entire match. Because I prioritise tactical patterns, you will learn to spot opportunities that others miss during the heat of a game.
We will explore endgame techniques that turn simple advantages into consistent wins. You will notice your time management improves once you have a clear plan for every phase. Building a strong opening repertoire is a process that we take one move at a time. It is all about the steady application of core principles."
