About Corazon
Playing music started for me as a way to understand the mechanics behind the songs I loved. 12 years of playing have taught me that 109 students all learn at different speeds.
Whether you are tackling strumming patterns and barre chords or diving into blues progressions, I guide you through the process. Music theory and ear training form the base of my instruction, while we explore electric technique and power chords together.
I enjoy watching students grasp fingerpicking or prepare for grade exam prep with renewed interest. My history includes working with diverse learners who want to play with more precision. I look forward to seeing where your musical interests lead you during our upcoming sessions.

Usually I listen to you play a simple scale to see where your hands feel most comfortable on the neck. We might start by adjusting your thumb placement to see if that makes the chord change feel easier on your fingers. I suggest we look at your strumming patterns next because keeping a steady pulse is more important than complex fretwork. You can tell me which songs you like, and we will find the underlying music theory so you understand how those chords connect.
It is quite helpful to use ear training to identify why a blues progression sounds the way it does. We will move through electric technique or fingerpicking at whatever pace suits your hands best.
Sometimes we stop to analyze a specific power chord shape that feels tricky. You will find that I am quite patient as we troubleshoot those harder sections. Most of our time goes toward building your confidence so you can play songs that actually sound like you.
