About Jay
Hi! My name is Jay and I'm a third year Cambridge undergraduate studying Chemical Engineering. I enjoy this discipline as I like applied mathematics and problem solving.
I have been tutoring on and off for the last four years and have found the experience incredibly rewarding. Improving both student confidence and attainment is a priority for me as it enables the student to reach their aspirations.

My teaching style is largely based on working up from fundamental principles and helping students to develop critical thinking skills. I found, in my experience, that building an intuition for a chosen topic led to a deeper understanding and a better ability to answer exam questions rather than memorisation. This also works better for those not blessed with a great memory.
