About Rufus
I have a BA in English and an MPhil in Education, both from the University of Cambridge. I have been tutoring for the last year, with students from 11+ to A-level. Last summer I taught at an international summer school in Cambridge. My pupils have achieved their goals across the board, from moving up a grade to passing the English exam of their preferred school.

My teaching methodology is based on a variety of techniques I learned as part of my study of Education. I assess each student's level of knowledge, their strengths and weaknesses, and what they want to get out of our sessions. I then ensure I am up to date on whatever texts they are studying (if they are), and tailor my sessions to the pupil. I like to get them to do the majority of the talking, and seek to constantly improve how they interrogate literature and language. It is hard to broadly define my methodology, as it will depend on the personality of the student! I am friendly and professional, and ultimately the student's comfort is essential to learning, so the most important thing will be to establish a good working relationship, and my methods can grow from there.
