About Reneh

I want to tutor because I am passionate about learning, and I want to help foster an environment that could urge other students to also develop or grow a passion for learning. When a subject is hard, students lose interest. Through tutoring, I want to prevent this as much as possible.

I have completed both the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP), where I achieved 56/56 points, and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), where I achieved 42/45 points. I have also received offers to study Law at Cambridge University, UCL, Kings College London, and Queen Mary’s University London. I can tutor in History, English Literature, Biology, and basic level Mathematics.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring students since I was 13, having started by teaching English to less privileged children in India. I gained an appreciation for the satisfaction that comes with seeing students understand a difficult concept, and I decided that I wanted to continue tutoring. I organized tutoring groups within my school and helped younger students with their homework, and assignments and with preparing for examinations. From 2020 to 2023, I tutored students in Maths and English via Zoom and I was able to learn a great deal about different tutoring methods and how to adapt my teaching style to each of my students wants and needs. I found that such personalization made tutoring a more engaging and less stressful experience for the student, and resulted in better outcomes. After taking a break from tutoring to focus on my year 13 examinations, in my gap year I have decided to continue tutoring.

A typical lesson is an hour long, but I am more than happy to be flexible. I have experience in teaching students as young as 7 and am also happy teaching IBPYP, IBMYP, IBDP, and GCSE level students.

I run my lessons based on the specific needs of the student. After discussing with parents and/or guardians, as well as the students, I devise a lesson plan that covers whatever my student needs to learn in whatever time frame I am given. However, this lesson plan is always flexible and if a student wants to focus on a certain topic, revisit something we have done, or prepare for something specific, I am more than happy to change my plans with some prior notice. My top priority is ensuring my students are prepared and feel comfortable with topics of concern, so I am always prepared to be flexible. I prioritize communication with both students and parents/guardians, so please always feel free to tell me if you would like to change the lesson plan or teaching method along the way.
