About Rosalind
I read English at Magdalene College, Cambridge, before being employed as an English Teacher at Collingham College, London in 2016.
I then worked at Brampton College, and Trevor Robert's Preparatory Prep, also teaching English, between 2018 and 2021.
I am a trained opera singer, and alongside my freelance performance career I work as a private tutor, drawing on my years of classroom experience.
I love to teach everything from Shakespeare to Plath, and have a particular love of poetry!

With seven years of classroom teaching experience, I tailor each session to my student's individual needs.
A typical session will involve reading a text (unseen or set, depending), and discussing it together. We will then tackle either a close-reading exercise, comprehension, or essay question. This typically feature practice writing and/or planning. I then give detailed feedback.
I focus on helping my students enjoy the subject-matter, giving them key technical terms to use in their writing, and helping them to improve the structure, tone and content of their written response.
I love to enrich student's experience of literature, but also have practice preparing students for exams (OCR, Edexcel, AGA), coursework and university applications.
