About Yuvraj

Hi! I'm Yuvraj, a current Engineering student at Cambridge and incredibly passionate about maths and physics.

I achieved 5 A*s at A Levels (Engineering EPQ, Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Computer Science), and 10 9s at GCSEs.

I have over two years of tutoring experience and have mentored at prestigious London Particle Physics and Materials Science summer camps.

I've developed highly efficient and effective strategies for examinations and I'd love to share them with my students and help them achieve those top A*s and 9s.

In my experience, students can end up with gaps in their knowledge which can undermine their faith in their own abilities and cause them to become demoralised. My style of tutoring is quite distinct in the way that I highly prioritise working with the student to root out these gaps in their core knowledge and filling them as we go along. I find within a few weeks students start to feel considerably better as all the material drawing from core fundamentals starts to make so much more sense.

About the lesson

I'm a passionate, patient and positive tutor with three years of my Master's Engineering degree from Cambridge under my belt.

I specialise in maths, physics and entrance aptitude tests (MAT, ENGAA, PAT) and have tutored a wide variety of students ranging from 11+, to GCSE and A Level.

While timings are flexible, I find that 45min-1hr sessions work best and I aim to have students understand topics building up from first principles, which greatly enhances their mathematical confidence and ability. I work with a virtual whiteboard over Zoom which students have found to be highly convenient. In my experience a deep understanding of the material is vital to crack the top grades and really succeed in maths/physics, because you can start to intuitively see through problems rather than having to rely on straight memorisation!

I can also advise for US & UK university admissions - having received offers from Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, Princeton & Georgia Tech, I am highly experienced with essay writing and crafting a compelling application.
