About Jonathan

I am a recent Land Economy graduate of the University of Cambridge, having achieved first class honours. I have a wide range of teaching and educational consulting experience, in volunteer, private and classroom type settings.

I am able to offer a quality admissions interview and personal statement assistance service by being a recent graduate with a lot of coaching experience. In my first year of university, in 2018, I volunteered to work with the charity Project Access which gives interview and application help to disadvantaged students applying to Cambridge. I gave a series of lessons to a student applying to Land Economy, providing regular practice interviews, discussions on readings and help with drafting personal statements. I received overwhelmingly positive feedback, and have since helped numerous students with personal statements in a diverse range of subjects who were then successful in getting an offer.

My services also cover more specialised subject tuition having had 4 years of private tutor experience in tutoring Maths, Science, Geography and Economics from A-level to KS3. The feedback has been resoundingly positive, as not only have the students’ academic ability improved but they also enjoyed the lessons, a principle I apply in all my teaching.

Further, my experiences enable me to offer classroom teaching programmes. Last summer I was selected to work with Oxbridge Summer Camps Abroad, an English language learning camp in Hong Kong. There, I tutored students aged 11 to 18, at a range of abilities and classroom sizes. I was commended for making the lessons both effective and engaging, a testament to my teaching principles, and was able to hone my ability at controlling large classes.

About the lesson

Hello! I am new to this platform, but I have more than 350 hours of tutoring experience over the last five years. My teaching approach adapts to the student and the areas he/she finds challenging. Ultimately, the aim is for the student to understand the fundamental methodology behind a concept, and be able to apply them confidently.
