About Ved

Having successfully navigated the GCSE process and achieved straight 9s, I understand exactly what is required to secure the very top grades. My results were not accidental; they were the outcome of a carefully structured revision plan, disciplined time management, and highly effective study techniques.

At A Level, I achieved 4 As at AS (the highest possible grade) and consistently perform at A* standard in examinations. These results stem from an organised revision framework, alongside the intelligent use of high-quality resources and challenging problem sets that I will provide to my students.

My wider academic achievements include multiple Gold awards in the Senior Maths Challenge, a Gold in the Senior Physics Challenge, as well as offers from Imperial College London and Cambridge University to study physics. I am also predicted 5 A*s at A-Level. These accomplishments reflect strong analytical ability and a familiarity with difficult concepts, and I will use these strengths to help my tutees improve in their respective subjects.

Beyond my own academic success, I have substantial tutoring experience. I currently work with younger students at Elite Maths Tutoring, preparing them for maths olympiads, where I develop their logical reasoning and problem-solving techniques. I have also contributed to the GCSE Chemistry Clinic at Queen Elizabeth’s School, supporting students in strengthening their understanding and improving exam performance. These roles have strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly, adapt to different personalised learning styles, and build students’ confidence.

About the lesson

My tutoring is fully personalised, with the primary aim of developing deep understanding and elevating a student’s academic performance. I strongly believe that long-term success comes from mastering concepts thoroughly, rather than relying on short-term rote memorisation. While memorisation may help in the short term, true academic excellence, particularly at GCSE and A Level, requires logical thinking and confident application.

Each of my lessons are carefully structured. I begin with an interactive explanation and discussion of the topic to ensure the student has a genuine understanding. This is followed by verbal questioning and active recall to consolidate knowledge, and then rigorous exam-style practice questions to develop precision and exam technique. Exam-styled questions are always accompanied by targetted analysis of the student's mistakes, to help identify weak points which we can solidify in future sessions.

I also encourage productive independent work between sessions. Students are guided on what to complete ahead of lessons and, where appropriate, are stretched slightly beyond the syllabus. This not only strengthens understanding but builds confidence and intellectual maturity - both of which have been key to my own academic success. Reading beyond the specification was instrumental in my Cambridge interview success, so I encourage students to explore concepts more deeply to build genuine understanding and passion for the subject.
