About Shyal
I am a teacher, writer and translator who is incredibly passionate about Spanish, both linguistically and as a tool to immerse myself in Latin cultures. I studied Philosophy and Spanish for my undergraduate degree at St Andrews, where I took a year abroad to work as an English teacher in Mexico. Upon graduating I won a scholarship to run poetry translation workshops across Latin America. In 2020 I returned to the UK to study my master's in Latin American Studies at Cambridge. Currently, I am based in London and looking to continue my career in Spanish.
